Rev. Dr. Barbara Moses

Barbara Green Moses is the eldest of four daughters born to Bessie and Cornelius Green (deceased). She grew up in Philadelphia, PA, and graduated from West Philadelphia High School. She received her B.S degree in Secondary Social Studies Education, from Cheyney State College, a M. ED in Urban Education, from Antioch University and a Doctor of Religious Education from Friends International Christian University. Certifications in Curriculum, Instruction, Supervision and Educational Administration were earned at the University of Pennsylvania. Barbara has studied at Eastern Mennonite Seminary and Palmer Seminary. She is an ordained preacher of the Gospel.

Barbara retired from the School District of Philadelphia, in June 1998, after thirty years of service. She served there as a teacher and administrator. When God called her to become the founding principal at Philadelphia Mennonite High School, she was serving as the School District’s K-12 Director of Social Studies Education. She praises God daily for blessing her to share His Word, while helping to academically and spiritually equip young people for leadership, service and peacemaking.Barbara retired again when Philadelphia Mennonite High School merged with two other Christian Schools to become The City School. She continue to serve as their Senior Advisor.

During the 2015-2016 academic school year, Barbara served as the Interim Academic Dean at Girard College, a Grades 1-12 residential school in Philadelphia, PA.

Currently, the Lord has called and blessed her to serve as the Interim Head of School, at Rivertree Academy in Fort Worth, Texas. While in Texas, Barbara serves as a member, under Watch Care, at Como First Missionary Baptist Church. She is a member of the Sunday School and attends Wednesday Evening Bible Study.

Barbara received her BA (Born Again) degree at the age of nine when Christ gave her the faith to believe and confess Him as Lord, to the Glory of God the Father. She is a lifelong member of New Hope Temple Baptist Church and serves there in numerous capacities, including, Associate Minister, Sunday School Teacher, President of the Choir, Dean and Instructor in School of Evangelism among other responsibilities.

Barbara retired again when Philadelphia Mennonite High School merged with two other Christian Schools to become The City School. She continue to serve as their Senior Advisor.

A widow, Barbara is the blessed mother of one daughter, Tamika Crawl-Bey, Esquire, son-in-law Timothy Crawl-bey, two grandchildren Ayana Nicole ( a freshman at Duke University and Jared Isaiah (an 8th grade student at A.I. DuPont Middle School.) God be glorified for all that He has done, is doing and continues to do!
