With his intense love for all styles of music, Diquan Julius is probably the most diverse singer/songwriter that you will ever see in the Gospel industry. Diquan is an up and coming Gospel artist that struts through with his big beard and strong powerful voice that some refer to as a trumpet. Being from a small country town in South Carolina, Diquan has been influenced by gospel stars such as John P. Kee and Tommy Ellison.

At the age of 3, Diquan started singing in every one of his church’s choirs except the senior choir but always felt that his mother forced him to sing on Sundays. Eventually, he became a lover of music as well as gained confidence in his voice which has landed him great opportunities such as performing the National Anthem at the Washington Wizards basketball game. He and his brothers pretended to be singing frogs from a childhood movie in which he would always sing lead vocal. Since those days Diquan has always wanted to be a singer so he started writing and singing R&B while in college. He later moved to Washington, DC for work where he met a colleague that heard him singing at his desk and invited him to church. Diquan became the first choir director of his church and during ministry God gave him a vision which led him back to songwriting but this time for the kingdom.

Diquan was ordained as a minister in April 2017 and he now attends New Life Open Bible Church in Alexandria, Virginia and is the lead singer of his group UTK. UTK has been nominated for several awards in the DMV Christian Music Awards, Kingdom Image Awards and is currently nominated for 5 Rhythm of Gospel Awards and 4 Kingdom Image Awards. Diquan and UTK released their first radio single in December 2016 entitled “Champion”. Champion was the first single from their first EP entitled “Praise & Worship”. Their second radio single “Sing Praises’ made it to Billboards Most added Gospel songs by radio and is currently moving up the charts. Through his music, Diquan plans to reunite generational division and spread love to all nations. His main focus is to reach both young and older leaders so they can all come together to make a difference for the needy, for injustice, and for Christian communion but through God’s love.
